I am Rich McKeating, and I am Yorkshire's Leading Fat loss expert!! I do other stuff too! like correct bad posture, help with back pain, knee pain and so on, but it just so happens I am pretty damn good at fat loss!

In fact, you can look around if you like, but you will find I am the only personal trainer in Hull who Guarentees you fat loss results in your first month or your money back. So far have not had to give a single refund! everyone who walks through my door loses at least 1 dress size or waist size ( usually more if i'm honest, but the gurentee is just for one :) int he first month.
As Hulls leading personal trainer I am a guide, I am here to help you achieve your goal, and together we can do that better than you could do by yourself. I know I cant push myself, I need someone there pushing me too! thats why I have trainers push me!
To help you get in AWESOME shape we do have a set of CORE beliefs.
Below is a list of the core beliefs of RMK Fitness & Wellbeing. It is these beliefs that define us and make us what we are! and it is these beliefs that help clients achieve amazing changes in such a short space of time!Core Beliefs
My core belief around Nutrition is that we should for the most part eat clean healthy food that give to our bodies, and eat them in such a way as to get the maximum benefit.
I believe in starting where a client is at, some people are ready straight away to go into my 30 day Reclaiming Slim plan, others just need a few weeks build up working on just one habit and increasing confidence.
Once 30 days is up I like to help clients continue to improve on nutrition, and continue to develop good habits and learn about their bodies. I like clients to do the plan at least once per year, and I think that long term a client should be allowed to indulge in a culinary indulgence if they wish, life is to be enjoyed and food is a big part of that.
I think that water taste better when you have been in the desert all day, and puddings taste nicer when you have gone without one for a while. I think that Nutrition is a very individual thing and that we all have to learn what works for us based on the sound principles . As a trainer and coach, I am conscious of not altering food relationships in a bad way ( all carbs are bad, I am a pig if I eat this etc)
On a practical basis this means the first session with a client I work out which approach is best for them ( a few weeks build up or straight into it) every single week I like to give my clients a new task based around these key concepts ( even during the 30 day plan I like to work on things like eat until 80% full for a week and then maybe move onto hydration or fruit and veg intake)
I constantly strive to stay up to date and as I learn more my concepts change. I also believe in being the best example of this myself before I teach it to others.
My core believe around exercise is that an exercise session should be specific to the client at that point in time, a beginner I usually focus on postural awareness and core foundation, as they progress we push things a bit more.
I like to do big compound movements and I am a stickler for technique, I will often stop a set, decrease the weight or regress the exercise if I think the client is struggling. I also believe in having a set program and keeping them on that program until no more gains are made, sometimes I just adjust one exercise at a time and keep them going.
Over all as much as possible I think an exercise session should be fun, people are scared of gyms and new clients are often afraid of getting things wrong, I like to crack a few jokes whilst working out and just laugh if it all goes pear shaped now and then.
Most of all I guess I like working hard, really hard, I am known to push people and my clients call me the punisher ( bastards) I get this from the days when I boxed, and from the marines, I have an intensity when I train myself and I Like to bring that out in others.
On a practical basis that means I have a set program for all clients, exercise is very much a way of life so I also give homework exercises to work on bringing up challenging areas with YOUTUBE links.
I make sure that when we exercise we focus as much as possible, in between sets we then relax a bit and maybe do some other stuff like prehab work or sometimes more core.
The intensity of the session varies depending on the level of the client and the stage of training.
My core belief about mindset and goal achievement is that This is something that intuitively makes sense to clients when its gotten across in the right way, I always say its like explaining what they already know in a way they have not heard it.
The mind controls the body and its a major part of the battle, a client who sees themselves as being "fat" will struggle to lose weight. A client who accepts themselves like a marriage vowel will find the journey much easier.
I like people to be focused and positive and I fine people if they say negative things about themselves in my session ( I have a piggy bank for a local charity that they have to donate to if they say things like " I am rubbish at this" or " I am sick of being fat") long term my goal is to help clients learn acceptance of their bodies as they age and to be find a purpose and meaning in life.
As far as goal achievement goes I like to set a point they are heading towards, and help them to think of that goal in the now but really focus on the journey to get their too.
On a practical basis I do goal setting sessions with all clients, its not uncommon for clients to get upset when we dig deep into the reasoning behind their goals, this is not my aim, but I am acutely aware that these are delicate areas I am dealing with and wish to remain careful where I step.
I am also mindful that people don't just tell me what they think I want to hear. I remind people often during their sessions about their goals and it can help motivate them especially during hard sessions.
I also have a core belief relating to Strength- I believe that for the most part women are a lot stronger than they give themselves credit for, and that lifting reasonably heavy weight with big compound movements can go a long way to helping them achieve their goals, I also believe that being strong is one of the best ways to get in good shape, improve confidence and benefit the body hormonally.
I do not however subscribe to the notion that strength should be confined to just squats; deadlifts etc, in fact there are clients who will never be able to do those exercises correctly so I just don't bother.
Strength can just be relative to a movement such as 1 leg hip or quad dominant exercises or even the ability to do press ups.
On a practical level this means that I push clients past their comfort zones often, at the end of most sets I ask could you have got more out or gone heavier?
next set we adjust. I listen to concerns of getting "too big" and assure them that if they feel this is the case we can adjust the program. I keep a record of past glories in various lifts that I can whip out when we do any exercise to help them push themselves and achieve more on their journey through health.
